The Second and Third Dimensions…SHAPES!

The students finished their 2-D and 3-D shapes unit today. It was an interactive unit where the students got to play with shape tiles and Geo-blocks, build their own 3-D shapes from nets, and an array of other art projects.

The cityscape of Gotham. The students built this using only common 2-D shapes, such as rectangles, circles, ovals, squares, and triangles.

The students made triangular prisms, cones and cubes from nets.

The students, of course, got to draw and colour their nets to showcase their individual creativity. 😀

Our Popsicle stick 2-D shape outlines also hang in the classroom window. One brave student attempted (and succeeded) in making a star.
