I graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in the spring of 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a passion for teaching the subject. I wanted to continue my educational journey and eventually share my love of English with future students, so I enrolled in and completed the University of British Columbia’s Bachelor of Education program.
During the B. Ed program, I had the opportunity to hone my love of teaching and acquired various strategies to better aid English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners in the classroom and students with exceptionalities. My studies in the B. Ed program have inspired me to pursue a Master’s degree in the future and continue to better myself as an educator that can establish a collaborative classroom community.
It is important to create inclusive classrooms, and a supportive classroom community where students feel safe and comfortable taking risks in various creative pursuits.
